A lot of people think and believe that Jesus is the source of the divine knowledge that is unveiled in the book of Revelation. That’s probably because of chapter 1’s introductory first verse that reads “the revelation of Jesus Christ.” However, notice that the rest of the verse reads “which God gave Him to show to His servants.” God, the Father, then, is the original transmitter of all that follows in the book.
Nonetheless, the phrase “the revelation of Jesus Christ,” can still be viewed, and is by some, as meaning that it is revelation that comes “from“ Jesus. On the other hand, some view the phrase as meaning that it is revelation “about” Jesus.
The way I’ see it, both views can be true at the same time. This is because Jesus is the main speaker “from” heaven and and certainly what He speaks is “about” His centrality to the book (actually a letter).
