Within Christians is the Light of creation (John 8: 12). It’s too bad when it’s hidden, for the intent of light is to be seen and to expose. So, believers, clearly seeing the evil, dark nature of this world, should be eager to help their fellow beings see the nature of this Light, which is good, right, and true.
The Lord doesn’t want us to block this Light. He wants us to come to the end of ourselves; to be broken so that the Light will shine through. Do it by discovering the likes of the Lord. Then please Him with actions that are in accordance with those likes.
Discover too the Lord’s dislikes. God’s people should be stars in the nightfall that represents God’s dislikes. We should stay above, having no participation in them. Instead, and with rebuke, our Light should be directed toward and focused on those dislikes. In this way, those involved in darkness may have the opportunity to recognize sin’s deceit and to see how worthless their dark deeds are.
You are the light of the world… Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5: 14, 16
For you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light… Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them. Ephesians 5: 8, 11
