Why can’t the members of the Westboro Baptist Church, located in Topeka, Kansas, see that they are wrong? They say their actions are in accordance with God’s disapproval of this country’s growing acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle and gay marriages.
But how does that relate to their thinking that God approves of their picketing and protesting the funerals of military combatants who have died in our current wars? How can they so easily dismiss the disrespect and pain that their presence and insulting hand-carried signs inflict upon the grieving, surviving families?
Where do they get the nerve to also declare that it was God’s judgment that those kids and adults die in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre that occurred in New Town, Connecticut? “They deserved to die, so God sent the shooter,” they said.
Members of Westboro were reported to have arrived in town, ready to picket the Sandy Hook funerals, but didn’t leave their hotel rooms in Hartford, Connecticut. Perhaps, they decided not to after New Townians and others from around the country came to line the streets, arm in arm, to protest and form a blockade against them.
The obvious answer to my above questions is that demonic influences have taken over the lives of the members of this so-called Christian church. Satan is behind it all in an attempt to discredit and profane the name of God.
Prayer is needed for these poor, deluded souls—that they’d come to see their thoughts and actions as what they are: sinful, wicked, evil. May there be an angelic fight for the salvation of these people, resulting in their repentance and deliverance.
