It is true and certain that after this earth is done away with, sin will never exist again. I believe that with all my heart because God says so. I can’t help but entertain thoughts, though, about how that will be accomplished.
Could it be that we, having gone through the sin experience, will have a part in stopping sin from ever rising again? I’m thinking of the horror stories we can tell about sin’s effects. That could be enough to keep humans born on the new earth from breaking from God should they ever question His ways.
Or, could it be that our memory of sin is wiped out? And if so, has God simply seen that throughout eternity none of His creation will ever break from Him again?—that true life will remain as it was originally designed and confined to be?
In that case, I’m speculating that we the redeemed and all born after us will only know “good.” With free will intact, we’ll never be tempted to know of anything beyond that. Only God will know of both good and evil.
Of course, there’s no way now for me to really know how God is going to see to it that sin never raises its ugly head again. To find out; as Mike, a Sabbath school classmate said, we’ll just have to wait until we get there. (Don’t forget, Mr. Mike, we shook hands on that and made a deal to both get there and find out together. I’m holding you to it, buddy.)
